Helping someone
I know

The best way to help someone is to give them the strength to help themselves.

Very often it is easy to blame the alcoholic, however, often the family have been a contributing factor to the actual problem at hand. Family culture, religion, differing points of view and unhealthy relationships can become barriers to full recovery which Pulse seeks to address when treating clients in a mindful and holistic way.

Family Support and Counselling

You cant control other people. You can only control your reactions to them.

Dependency and dual diagnosis treatment are significantly more effective when family and close friends participate in the recovery process. Andrew, with the assistance of his network of health professionals, are committed to ensuring the highest levels of discretion. With this said, family therapy is entered into with the client’s consent and only when they feel mentally and emotionally prepared.

Family counselling is an essential method to develop and maintain healthy and functional family relationships. The goal is to identify and address issues or challenges within the family, which may be emotional, psychological, or behavioural or even a combination of these.

On-site or remote sessions are facilitated by a trained family therapy specialist who creates a safe space to encourage calm and constructive family discussions, enabling a comfortable reintegration process. Although family attendance at support groups is encouraged, this remains entirely at the client’s discretion.

Corporate Support and Counselling

Empower your employees to take control of their well-being

The psychological and emotional well-being of an organisation’s employees has progressively become more important and inherent to the overall success of a business. Some benefits of promoting wellness in the workplace include creating a healthier, happier workplace which leads to decreased absenteeism, increased productivity, and optimal levels of motivation and morale amongst team members.

It is therefore important to provide specialised support and assistance to employees through either face-to-face or virtual counselling sessions.

Some areas of care offered on or off-site, either in a group or individual sessions, focus on:

Professional Intervention Services

Very often, when families are in crisis, they require an empathetic and objective professional to assist them with appropriate intervention methods.

Andrew, alongside his referral network of qualified professionals, has extensive experience with this treatment facet. He does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach but provides an individual, holistic methodology.

As a starting point, Andrew will arrange a face-to-face assessment with the client and, where necessary, their family members. Thereafter, he will be best placed to discuss and recommend the best treatment options available to suit each unique situation.

If, however, you or a family member require urgent assistance, please contact Pulse here:

Online Supervision for Addiction Counsellors

There is no such thing as impossible. The very word says: Im Possible.

Through his many years of working in the recovery, addiction, and trauma space, Andrew has determined that counsellors experience highly elevated stress levels and burnout. With limited resources to access the support they require, many counsellors themselves become traumatised.

With this in mind, an online forum for counsellors exists to discuss any issues they may be experiencing. Andrew provides in-direct therapy and support that gives counsellors a safe space to express their concerns and assist with coping tools and where possible provide the necessary resources.
